Located in
South France, Belėf was formed by Adramelech and Brahamator (guitars)
in 1996. After two years seeking a true drummer, they finally
met Gorgor, and at the same time Morrdrėd as both a bass player
and vocalist. Time had finally come for Belėf to spread his message.
After a few
shows in their area, they decided to focus on fours songs to record
their first demo, "The Fifth Season", which was recorded
by Alex from Agressor in his studio during August 1998. The feedbacks
were good and it permitted the band to get in touch with many
people from the worldwide underground.
Then, they
started to work very hard on new songs which sound a lot more
brutal than the usual Black Metal stuff. Later, Konickthork (bass)
joined Belėf so Morrdrėd could concentrate only on his vocal-lines
in a more than ever blasphemic way. They played some shows and
got prepared for their second recording.
In 1999,
Belėf recorded three new songs still in the Panoramix Studio.
This new recording, "Deathwind Legion", is a tuff work
which aims to destroy everything and most of all fuck assholes
who play black metal for business. In late 1999, Criminal Records
decided to join forces with the band to piss on those trendy fuckers!
